The Member Spotlight feature is where we turn the spotlight on remarkable individuals, celebrating their unique journeys and exceptional contributions to our vibrant community! Meet Junjie, a Circuit Designer, certified Tea Master, and Deputy Chairperson of SEEA, utilising his SGN community involvement to empower Southeast Asian entrepreneurs while navigating cultural integration and revolutionizing memory chip technology.
Share a glimpse of your background: Who you are, and what's your experience with our community?
I am Junjie, a circuit designer at a Semiconductor company based in Munich. I am also the co-founder of a Tea Sommelier company "Hungry Tea Masters" and the Deputy Chairperson of an entrepreneur community based in Germany, Southeast Asian Entrepreneurs in Europe Association (SEEA), bringing together Singaporean and Southeast Asian entrepreneurs based in Europe, or who are looking to expand their businesses to Europe.
I have always been part of the SGN community and started working with then-OSU to plan events to bring together Singaporeans in various communities in Germany such as "National Day Jalan Jalan" in 2019, Virtual Career Fair in 2021 and together with the Embassy in Berlin, the Virtual National Day event in 2020. After we started SEEA, we co-organised various events with SGN, catering to Southeast Asian entrepreneurs and Working-Professionals, for e.g. our soft-launch in May 2022 in Berlin, an IWD event in March 2023, and our latest event was Oktoberfest in September 2023.
What's a project you are working on and why is it meaningful to you?
My current project is SEEA, building up a strong network of Southeast Asian entrepreneurs and working with various organisations to form partnerships that will be beneficial to our members. There is a lack of support for Southeast Asian entrepreneurs in various aspects, from bureaucracy to financial support, from setting up a business to expansion. There is always a need to find help and support, thus our goal at SEEA is to connect, empower and inspire entrepreneurs across the region.
It is rewarding when our members benefit from our resources and network, and knowledge exchange with other more experienced entrepreneurs, and no longer feel alone in their entrepreneurial journey with the support from the association.
If you could team up with anyone for an epic project, who would be your dream collaborator and why?
As a memory chip designer, I would love to collaborate with the greatest semiconductor physicists to build the next-generation Memory Chips to answer all our memory problems with the rapid growth of AI.
Share your SGN experience and let us know what other members should contact you for!
As an SGN member, I've had the chance to connect with fellow overseas Singaporeans and awesome community builders in Europe, all working towards making SEEA even better. If you're passionate about tea, semiconductors, or just curious about SEEA, feel free to drop me a message! '
In our community, it's not about individual stars; it's about shining the spotlight on everyone! We celebrate the diverse contributions and unique vibes each member brings. Together, we thrive! Join the Singapore Global Network community for more stories like this one!🌟
